I revised the post now entitled “Will Give Up Half-My-Salary For City Manager (Revised).” If elected, I decided to, effectively, reduce the mayor’s salary to $75,000 (which would be a little more than a half reduction), and I changed the projections for the would-be Chief of Staff’s and City Manager’s salaries to $75,000 and $150,000, respectively (also slight reductions). This would reduce the overall projection for managerial salaries to an aggregate total of $300,000 annually, down from the previous projection of $320,000.
Already, I’m looking for ways to save the City money, and by changing the projectory of salaries for my top management triad, including myself, I just saved Federal Way $20,000 annually during my would-be term of office, thereby, saving $80,000 over 4 years. In real terms, it’s probably a better savings than that, depending on what Ferrell & his “gang” are making at the moment. By the way, I believe one of Ferrell’s “gang” (not Ferrell, himself) did a little trash talkin’ when he passed me in his car about a month ago (maybe as long as a month-and-a-half ago, and I was not in a car), emphasis on the word “believe;” I’ll just say about 80% certain. Probably worried that he’s going to lose his nice salary in January and wind up on the unemployment line (it happens to the best of us).
